Therapy FAQs

Answers about therapy with Marsha Lowes Psychotherapy, including fit, specialties, payments, superbills, and in-person or telehealth sessions in Austin.

Common Questions

What if more than one specialty fits?

That is normal. Many concerns overlap: postpartum anxiety can involve grief, couples therapy can involve attachment, and burnout can touch old trauma or perfectionism. Start with the concern that feels most immediate and use the consultation request to explain the fuller picture.

What should I include in a consultation request?

Share the main concern, whether you are seeking individual or couples work, your timing constraints, and whether you are located in Austin or elsewhere in Texas.

What kind of therapy does Marsha Lowes Psychotherapy offer?

Marsha Lowes Psychotherapy offers individual and couples therapy in Austin, with support for relationship strain, postpartum and perinatal mental health, trauma, IFS, attachment, grief, burnout, religious trauma, narcissistic abuse recovery, anxiety, and codependency.

Do I need to know exactly what kind of therapy I need before reaching out?

No. A consultation request can simply describe what has been happening lately and whether you are seeking individual or couples therapy.

Can I ask about fit before beginning therapy?

Yes. You can use a consultation request to ask about fit, scheduling, and whether the concerns you are bringing are within the practice's scope.

Do you accept insurance, and how do payments work?

I am not in network with any insurance companies, so clients pay for sessions directly. I can provide a superbill that documents the services received and fees paid. You may submit the superbill to your insurance company to request out-of-network reimbursement. Coverage varies by plan, so I recommend asking your insurer about out-of-network mental health benefits, deductibles, and reimbursement requirements before beginning therapy.

Do you offer both in-person and telehealth therapy in Austin?

Yes. I offer both in-person sessions in Austin and telehealth appointments, giving clients the option to choose the format that works best for their needs. You can ask about current availability and session format when you request a consultation.
